In this video they call him UNEDUCATED, but he was a son of a blacksmith.  He was lucky to become a bookbinders apprentice.  HE READ EVERY BOOK THAT PASSED THROUGH HIS HANDS.

If a person was a blacksmith, that was one of the most sought after, well trained, high talent, jobs that existed prior to the introduction of currency.

Shame on PBS for propagating such things.

Next he wasn't LUCKY - he actually did understand forces, like compression and magnetism.  He was more intelligent than most because he had been exposed to more real knowledge than most.

CURRENCY changed the equasion, it pushed the paradigm and made people unsatisfied with work that htey were doing, and at that time machines were starting to take over the jobs that people used to do, like making good quality iron implements and alloys
